The- Polariscope is used to determine the optic character of transparent and semi transparent gem stones; in other words- whether a gemstone is singly or doubly refractive. Diamond cutters will use the Polariscope to determine the strain in a diamond before cutting. All Polariscopes are made up of an Analyzer and a- polarizer.

This polariscope is brand new and is very -similar to the Gia version, the most obvious difference is the switch- is located on the back and it does not come with a interference sphrere, an interference sphere can be special- ordered
