Only E! Online was given exclusive-rights to the coverage of the ceremony scheduled to air in October in a two-part special but that doesn’t mean we can’t give you something.
Among the ceremony’s highlights were the gowns, the food, the reception, floral designs, and the jewelries! Roughly half of the $20 million budget went to diamond-studded accents, cuffs, earrings, and-whatnots. The nuptial itself can match that of the April Royal Wedding starring Prince William and Duchess Kate. After all, the newlyweds successfully--pulled off a wedding ceremony that deserves to be deemed one of the weddings of the decade what with all the lavish servings, set-up, and attires.
Mr and Mrs Humphries had been wowing the crowd since day one when they announced their engagement May. After that, everyone started raving about the-wedding details, which were kept confidential because of the rights issue. However, we manage to dig up some information.
For the ceremony, Kim wore three elegant gowns tailored by fashion authority Vera Wang. The first was a body-hugging white strapless-- Chantilly laced gown with tulle skirt. The second was another Chantilly-laced mermaid gown with hand-cut organza petals filled skirt. The third was an ivory V-neck satin gown with circle skirt which she wore for the evening party.
While she wore the two preceding gowns with her hair up, she wore the third with her hair down held by a diamond-studded hair clasp to match her diamond-studded- earrings. For the additional accessory, Kim also sported a massive cuff in her wrist. While showing off her curves and paying tribute to Hollywood classicism, Kim obviously did not hesitate to spend around $10 million to bejewel her wedding garbs.
Kim’s long time friend Lorraine Schwartz provided all those jewels- including the engagement ring and the wedding ring. And even if Kim reportedly lost $75,000 worth diamond earrings, there was no reason to bother.
The extravagant wedding affair took place on August 20 in their Montecito estate in California. An enormous marquee--was built to house the A-list guests with a fully covered walkway to secure Kim’s entire look as it was exclusively for E! Online. Wolfgang Puck provided the catering; Robin Thicke gave the couple’s wedding dance a romantic background song. Meanwhile, Kim’s florist was the same as Khloe’s during her sister’s wedding.
There were reports that Kim’s wedding amounted to a total of $20 million while some estimated it was around $30 million. Those who are in doubt settled for the $10 million-budget. It does not matter whether it is $3 million or $30 million. Considering all the extravagance, it is safe to say that the Humphries-Kardashian nuptial is a multi-million dollar one. Spending that much after all is not impossible for Kim who has always been--vocal about making her wedding THE wedding of the century.
